Try it out on Amazon EC2

We’re constantly working on making Offscale DataGrove easier to use. That’s why we are happy to announce the Amazon EC2 AMI initiative. A zero-download, zero-install pre-configured AMI that you can spin up and start enjoying the benefits of an automatically managed database.

We’ve added a new page to the “Getting started” section of our website explaining how to get the instance running and how to test it out. Go to the “Getting started with EC2″ page, to learn more about it. Our offering right now is very simple – you can spin a new machine, with the latest version of Offscale DataGrove installed, and the database of your choice already configured (for now, we only have an AMI with MySQL, but we’ll add PostgreSQL and MongoDB in the following weeks).

The data, for now, is configured to be saved on the instance, so you will have to save the AMI if you want to be able to get back to it after you’ve done some changes to the database. We’ll probably add better support for EBS and S3 in future version. Let us know if this is something you need, so we know how to prioritize our releases.

Go on, take us out for a spin. It’s free.
